This unique design is a complete example of residential architecture, creating a harmonious and inviting atmosphere. The facade of the building is a dynamic wooden lattice, inspired by the growth of plant leaves, metaphorically representing the cedar. This lattice can be adjusted by the occupants, allowing for privacy customization and creating a constantly changing appearance.
The main facade is constructed using three main materials: thermos wood for window shading devices, turquoise stone facing for the main facade, and exposed concrete as a complementary neutral material used in the entrance. The wooden panels are specially designed and cut under the supervision of the design team, with each panel having a steel frame covered by wooden finishing. This interactive, flexible, and dynamic facade adds a modern touch to the traditional concept of hanging gardens.
The building spans nine stories and covers a total area of 2,450 square meters. It features cedar trees planted on the 1st, 2nd, and 5th floors, reminiscent of the main planting pattern of hanging gardens. The play of sunlight during sunrise and sunset creates a soothing atmosphere, inspired by Iranian traditional architecture and making the building climatically responsive.
Pardis Kahneh was designed in Tehran in February 2013, with construction completed in September 2017. The design team extensively researched Iranian garden architecture and Persian miniature paintings to ensure a conscious representation of Iranian identity in a modern context.
This innovative design overcame the challenge of reintroducing forgotten Iranian architecture while maintaining a modern aesthetic. The simplicity and harmony of the architecture, combined with the modernized traditional construction, create a unique living experience that combines modernity with traditional feelings and atmosphere.
Pardis Kahneh has been recognized for its outstanding design, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in 2021. This prestigious award celebrates designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, contributing to improvements in quality of life.
